Looking for family and ancestor birth records

My grandmother was born in Lopushnytsya in 1907. I am told that her birth records were probably held in a church. Could this be so? I am looking for direction to find any family that may still be in the region and to obtain access to her birth records if possible. I would appreciate any help you can give me.
