My Baba Musiowsky was born in Lviv.
She just turned 100 years old on November 9, 2007.
so her birthday would be Nov. 9 1907,
I believe she came to Canada sometimes in 1937 or so.
Husbands name was William, Wasyl, now deceased.
I think her maiden name was Fegura, or Fedora ?? first name is Maria.
she had a brother Josef, (now deceased) who also came to Canada.

Might also be spelled as MUSHIOWSKI in english letters.
In Ukrainian the third letter is a "sh" - that is how it is pronouced.

мушіовські

In Ukrainian it should be Мусійовський (Musiyovskyj) – found 3 of them in Lviv phone book. But these might be just namesakes. Archival inquiry/research may give you more precise results.

Thank you very much for looking that up for me.
these versions of the Spelling will be helpful, as the Canadian Archives require exact spelling to produce information...and I have not tried these out.
This is great, thank you again. : )

Now I just found out that my Baba and rest of family was actually from and born in Lutowiska !
the only told people Lviv because it was more well known.
this way they did not have to try and explain where Lutowiska is!

Hello Andriy !!! nice to meet you.

here is the information I am working with.

It is not actually Lviv afterall, my relatives always said Lviv, because it was well known to people, more so than Lutowiska.
>Lutowiska is really where they were born, and where they lived.
>they only told people Lviv for Convenience of trying to explain where Lutowiska is located.
>
>My Baba, Maria Fegura, (Figura), was born in Lutowiska, on November 9, in 1907
>Her Husband, my Gido, Wasyl Musiowsky was born in Lutowiska on May 18, 1906 -
>
>Maria Fegura's mother is also believed to be from Lutowiska.
>her name is Katarina Fegura, Date of Birth Unknown. It is believed that Katarina's Husbands name was METRO FEGURA.
>Katarina and Metro had 3 children : Maria (my baba), Josef, and Peggy.
>
>Wasyl Musiowsky was one of 7 children in his family. here is a portrait of him at age 29 or 30 years old.

>I only know that one brother was named METRO Musiowsky.
>The other siblings could still be in that area today, or maybe have immigrated to other countries, we don't not have any record of them. and Wasyl is now deceased.
>
>Wasyl Musiowsky's Father's name was Karl Musiowsky
>Karl Musiowksy's Father's name was Nikolai Musiowsky
>
>my Father also mentioned the region Nuvay Sambir or Novi-Sambor

Does any of these names sound familiar to your family history?

Hello
Sorry, that I did not answer so long
Unfortunately my grandfather and his brothers and sisters died, that is why obtaining clear information was not succeeded.
My relatives (grandfather and his family) lived in Balichi on a border with Poland.
My grandfather, Ivan, was born in Balichi, on june, in 1926
Ivan had 2 brothers: Nikolai, Mihailo, and 2sisters: Maria, Stefania
Ivan Musiyoskyj's Father' name was Josef, Date of Birth 1906-1908, Stariy Sambir
Josef Musiyoskyj was one of 9 children in his family.
Repressions and migrations began in 1939-41. That is why our relatives have immigrated to Belgium, France, USA and also to Canada, but we don't know where they are now.
So, here is information about me: I live in Uzhgorod, I'm 29.
my@pochta.com - email, if U have skype U can call me - zoulmg.
Afterall I'd like to know about U.
Thank U

=============================
He was also born 1906 in the Stariy Sambir area. that is what my Father has told me, to check into "Old Sambir".
Maybe My Gido's Father and your Gido's Grand-Father could have been brothers?

I know this sounds confusing.

I don't know what "skype" is??

Actually I will continue this message on Facebook. I think it is superior format because it notifies me when I have messages waiting. On these forums I never know when there is a reply unless I check it all the time.

take care,
Lynda
